Breakway nuts are installed with regular tools, including socket wrenches.

Upon tightening, the hex head shears off, leaving the 5/8" wide conical base to protect your property.

These nuts feature a low breakoff torque range of 40-60 inch-pounds for surface mounting of signs and other equipment that can be damaged by overtightening. A high-torque version is also available for metal joining applications - please inquire below for price and availability.
