Tri-Groove Security Nuts
Tri-groove security nuts are installed, removed and reused with a special socket that permits top-down access to recessed mountings or deep channels.
They are popular for applications like solar panel installations, when there is no access to the fastening from the side.
Tri-groove nuts are made from 1018 carbon steel, and case-hardened. They cannot be shattered with a hammer blow like many zinc die-cast nuts.
Tri-groove sockets can be added to your order by clicking the product detail for each size of security nut listed on this page. Sockets are limited to 1 piece per 100 nuts for web orders. If you need a driver for the nut sockets, we offer a hand driver (TGD38) and power drill adapter (TGDA38). All of the nut sockets will fit standard 3/8" drivers.
